A.J. AllettoTim was born in 1974 to Hershel and Lois Collier.  His love for bluegrass music came at an early age.  At 5 years old, he was already singing in church with his Dad.

"I have been fascinated with the guitar for as long as I can remember. My dad and older brother Rick played long before I ever started.  It wasn't until 1992 that I heard Tony Rice play and my heart was stolen forever.  The timing and drive he had, has never been and never will be surpassed."

In 1994 Tim and his brother Rick hooked up with our Dad and 2 of his friends to form the Gospel Express.  They played for the next 2 years and recorded one project.  "The highlight of that was playing beside my Dad and my brother."

It wasn't too long after that Tim got a call from a guy named Glenn Burton.  He along with his wife Dinah and son Jason were the leaders of the Bluegrass Gospel Reflections.  This is where Tim "cut his teeth" on how to play organized music.  Glenn showed him the ropes on everything from timing, to how to dress, and conduct yourself on stage.  "I will always be grateful that he took a 20 year old kid under his wing and allowed me to be a part of the reflections."

My brother Rick met Dan Canerday through our mom Lois. He was walking through the plant with a bluegrass shirt on.  She approached him and told him her two son's played music.  Rick went down to Don Meadow's house and played some with the guys.  It was two weeks later that I met all the guys at my brother's house and the band was formed.  It's hard to believe that was 1997 and here it is 2007.  We have played all over the Midwest together and there is no stopping us now.

My musical hero's are Tony Rice, JD Crowe, and Doyle Lawson.  My Indiana hero's for Bluegrass are Daryl Jones, Ron Nolan, Aaron Law, and Dave Denman.

When I am not playing music, I enjoy spending lots of time with my wife Kim and our four beautiful children.
