Dan played the violin for two years in the school orchestra while in elementary school but became aggravated at the teacher one day and walked out of the band room and that was the end of his formal music training. He started sneaking his dads old guitar out of the house and would go over to his cousins house and his dad had an old mandolin and they started playing some bluegrass stuff and he was pretty much hooked at that point. "I went through the rock and roll fad but bluegrass has and always will, be the music I want to play, its just kinda gets in your blood and you can't get it out !" Dan has been with New Harmony since the start up of the band, he plays guitar and sings lead and tenor. "The guys in the band are more than just band members they are some of my very best friends now and that means a great deal to me and I think that is why we enjoy pickin as much as we do. "David Parmley is my favorite singer and I love the old Bluegrass Cardinals music." Dan and his wife Linda met in high school and were married about a year after graduation. They have two wonderful daughters and two beautiful grand daughters. Email Danny at mailto:dannyc@newharmonyband.com
